At one end of the spectrum, this included their new HDL 53-AS active high-power bass module as well as the HDL 50-A and SUB 9007-AS large format line array rig, which was on active demo outside in the Live Sound Arena, to the new M18 digital mixer in the demo booth, where it ensured the amazing voice of Valentina Petrossi was heard to perfection.
There were also plenty of other new system previews which ensured that traffic on the large stand remained constant throughout the four days. Summing up the show, RCF general manager, Fausto Incerti, stated, "This was a particularly successful show for RCF - and the perfect opportunity to launch several new products, both in the pro and in the mixing console lines.
"We received a lot of positive comments, while the show provided the perfect opportunity to meet our customers and business associates. In the outside area it was possible to listen to the HDL 50-A and complementary SUB 9007-AS - and from the comments we received, we are convinced these new models will have a substantial impact in the large format line array market."
In contrast to its long history as a leading supplier of complete matched loudspeaker systems and components, over the past two years RCF has taken strides in developing two mixer lines, under the supervision of Umberto Zanghieri.
He confirmed that Prolight+Sound had provided a dynamic forum to expose the extended range of analogue and digital mixers, in particular the M18. This handled all the audio requirements of Ms. Petrossi and her full backing band (guitar, bass and keyboards). This attracted many visitors and the demo room was constantly packed during all the live performance and the presentations than ran for the duration of the show.
The presentations themselves were based on an overview of the ample sound manipulation capabilities of the M18, showing the effectiveness of the internal amp simulations and other effects. Stereo and 4-track playback were used throughout the live performances.
Summing up, Mr. Zanghieri said, "The excellent response from visitors confirmed the original aim of the M Series product line, targeting musicians and their need to minimize the amount of equipment required to obtain professional audio results. We were able to present the full range, including the more compact M08."
Complementing this was the new E Series of professional analogue mixers, which also evoked considerable interest from visitors. This series features an advanced Effects section (derived from the M Series digital mixers), a large number of AUX busses and extensive EQ capabilities - and visitors had the opportunity to check out the E12, E16 and E24.
Overall, RCF's massive stand was an Aladdin's cave of innovation, ranging from the CK Series installation range to the tiny HDL 6-A and HDL 12-AS from the D-Line Series, all of which will make their mark in the coming months.
The TTL6-AS bass module was also showcased for the first time, complementing the TTL6-A full-range three-way active line sourced launched successfully last year.
RCF also presented the HD 10-A MK II and HD 12-A MK II active two-way monitors, designed to be used as main front of house in small PA systems and for high-power monitoring.
Fausto Incerti concluded, "Whichever way you look at it, this was a highly positive show for RCF - at every level."
