Why Why Why Delilah? - Sir Tom Jones has accused senior executives on BBC's The Voice of "sub-standard behaviour", claiming they unceremoniously sacked him just a day before announcing his replacement. Sir Tom, the long-serving judge on the BBC talent show, said he had pencilled series five of The Voice into his diary, expecting to continue his role. Instead, he claimed, he was "told with no consultation or conversation of any kind" that he would not be returning. A new line-up was announced just one day later, comprising Boy George, Paloma Faith, and returning coaches Will.I.Am and Ricky Wilson.

Sir Tom was immediately inundated with messages from angry fans, telling him they would be switching off the show in protest. A spokesman for the BBC said, "The final decision on the coaches' line up for series 5 of The Voice was only taken

UK - If the UK is to maintain its position as a world leader in creative industries, the learning and development of managers and leaders needs to be drastically improved, according to a research report published by the creative industries' skills body, Creative Skillset, and Ashridge Business School.

The report, Creativity and Constraint, leadership and management in the creative industrie paints a picture of unstructured learning environments, little time for training and development and a fairly widespread lack of understanding of the strategic goals of companies, especially in smaller enterprises and amongst freelance staff less able to access training.

It highlights the need for support on leadership, strategy, innovation, financial and people management - and mentoring is cited as the preferred means of developing management skills.

Media Pressure - The producers of forthcoming musical Elf will introduce a £30 ticket band after bowing to "overwhelming public and social media demand" for more affordable tickets. The show, which runs for 10 weeks over Christmas at the West End's Dominion Theatre, has been criticised for its ticket prices, which rise as high as £240 for a top price seat.

The producers said that strong sales on more expensive seats allowed them to offer a limited number of £30 tickets throughout the run. "The producers acknowledge the show and the West End itself should not exclude families or anyone who cannot afford the higher priced seats, and have therefore used the incredible sales on the higher prices tickets to offset the cost of the new lower priced seats being introduced at all performances," a statement said.
