USA - Element Labs has appointed Steve Simard as sales director for North America. The appointment forms part of Element Labs' continued growth strategy. Simard brings to Element Labs over 10 years experience. Prior to joining Element Labs, he spent over 12 years refining his skills in the fields of display technology integration and project technology, working closely with retail developers, building owners, brands and advertising agencies alike.

A graduate of Kennedy Western University's business program, Simard consolidated his skills and industry expertise in various positions with technology firms such as Barco and Saco Smartvision. He will be based in Atlanta, Georgia.

UK - Experienced audio professional Fran Hunter has joined Red Square Audio where he will be primarily involved as technical sales manager, but will be also working closely with founder Paul Nicholson on demo and training activities in support of both the Innovason and Tannoy lines.

Hunter has been working in studio and live professional sound for over 15 years. He has been involved in work as varied as rebuilding a Neve room for a London studio, working in studios across Europe, firefighting (in some cases quite literally!) through the night on major tours and festivals, and completing live multi-track recordings for artists such as Prince.

Middle East - Bosch Communications Pro Audio Division, which includes brands like Electro-Voice and Dynacord, has appointed Ryan Burr as its new regional sales manager for the Middle East and Africa, based in Dubai.

Ryan comes from Dundee in Scotland and has recently been working for Dubai-based distributor Venuetech, where he dealt with sales of pro audio products into the national market within the UAE. He has also been involved in supporting many permanent installations within the UAE so brings some of the knowledge required to fulfil his new role with him.

Malaysia - Harman Professional has announced the appointment of several new staff members to the Harman Pro Asia team. The Harman Pro Asia office, located in Kuala Lumpur, has effectively added three new additions onto their team: Eric Goh, Kit Roche and Raymond Tee.

Goh has been added to the Asia staff as regional sales director for South Asia; a position in which he assumes responsibility in handling all dealings involving Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand. He will report to David McKinney, Harman Professional's senior director of sales for Asia.

Another team addition, Roche comes to the office with 20 years of administrative experience and assumes the position of office manager.

Mats Jonsson is the new CTO for Wireless Solution, with 25 years experience in software development for major manufacturers of infrastructure equipment. Jonsson will be project manager for W-DMX, responsible for software design.

Kjell Johanesson is a new radio engineer with 20 years experience from Ericsson, the provider of mobile phones and GSM Networks, which were the technologies that formed the basis of W-DMX when the company formed in 2004.

UK - Following the recent sudden death of Dennis Harburn, managing director of Shure Distribution UK, Shure has paid tribute to Harburn, who was closely involved with the company for more than three and a half decades.

Dennis Harburn had been with Shure for over 36 years, having joined in 1972, when it was Shure Electronics Limited (SEL), as a sales rep for London and the South East. As SEL shifted to independent ownership, he quickly rose through the ranks as assistant sales manager, sales manager, and then sales director before being named Managing Director in 2000.

While spending almost his entire career supporting Shure, Dennis also was a classic car enthusiast, a lover of horse riding, a die-hard fan of Gillingham F.C and was the proud owner of a vast and diverse music collection.
