Taking over the reins from David Bissett-Powell, new managing director Anthony Taylor (formerly the company's finance director) paid tribute to the legacy of the previous management, which has laid a firm foundation for future successes.

R&D director Jason Baird backed this up by hinting at groundbreaking technologies presently under development while newly-appointed director of sales, Simon Bull, also sounded an upbeat note, having received enormous support from the company's global distributors.

The Netherlands - L&SI has learned the sad news of the sudden death on Friday of Patrick Jordan, managing director of Mojo Barriers. He was just 44 years old.

UK - Harman International's mixer group has made senior personnel changes to further extend Soundcraft Studer's position in the global audio markets.

Studer's Executive VP of sales, Bruno Hochstrasser, will retire at the end of 2009, making way for Adrian Curtis, previously VP Sales for Soundcraft, to take on the mantle for both Soundcraft and Studer. Curtis will assume this position immediately whilst Hochstrasser will remain within the sales team for the remainder of this year to ensure an effective hand-over.

USA - Radian Audio Engineering has expanded its sales team with the appointment of Keith Klawitter. He will assume responsibilities for Western Regional Sales working out of the company headquarters in Orange, California beginning 1 May.

Klawitter has a long career in the audio industry stretching back over more than 20 years. He is best known as the founder and president of high-end speaker design and manufacturing company KRK Systems, which he established in Huntington Beach, California in 1986. He remained with the company as chief consultant for five years after Stanton Magnetics acquired the name and assets in 2000.

Edwards began as a service technician for installation company Design Intervention in 2000. In 2002 he joined VLPS (PRG Lighting) at Greenford and went on to serve as a senior Vari-Lite technician working on site across the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
