UK - Hawthorn has organized a series of events to take place at its base in Old Dalby, Leicestershire. The events, running under the heading 'Hawthorn@Home', will give lighting, sound and AV users the opportunity to get hands on with the latest equipment and technology. It is intended the workshops will allow manufacturers, suppliers and users to discuss the products and to gain an insight not normally available outside the large tradeshows.

Hawthorn's hire and sales team will host the events, which will kick off with lunch and an informal get together followed by the hands on/demo of the equipment. The first three events are; 29 July - Who are Hawthorns - an introduction to Hawthorns, the people, the products and the projects with tours of the newly extended office and warehouse complex. Featuring demos and hands on opportunities of LED for hire, Alpha Spots, MACs, Sound, AV plus a chance to see what hire equipment the company has in it's warehouse.

On 2 September Generic Lighting, featuring product representation from Selecon, ETC, Thomas, ADB and Strand and on 7 October Flash, Bang and Feedback a demonstration of pyrotechnics by Le Maitre plus radio mics by Sennheiser, Sony and Trantec.

"It is hoped the events will become a regular meeting ground for users to discus and share all things to do with the industry and to share ideas" said Hawthorns Alan Jackson, "and also to give everyone the opportunity to get to grips with all types of equipment. Being centrally based we feel we are best placed to host this type of event and open it to everyone."
