For the third successive year, the island was renamed the Isle of Woman for a weekend of fund-raising activities commencing Friday 24th October. In support of the event ELS were once again delighted to accept a request from professional services firm Maitland & Co, whose offices are housed in the former hotel, to donate their services by illuminating the building totally in pink for three nights.
ELS used four of Chauvet's Colorado 1 9-channel wash lights and two COLORado 3 12-channel bank systems. Both ideal for outdoor use with IP66 ingress protection, the models offer full RGB colour mixing with or without DMX control as well as a range of built-in automated programs available either in master/slave or DMX mode or by using the optional COLORado Controller.
With a Lux of 14,741 at 1m, the COLORado 1 has 12 red, 12 green and 12 blue high-power 1W LEDs and is supplied with a gel frame holder. The COLORado 3 is fitted with 56 equally divided high-power 1W LEDs giving a Lux of 7,270 at 1m. Both fixtures have password-protected LED displays and are designed for use in various applications thanks to their blackout, dimming, static and strobe functions.
"As soon as we were asked to provide the lighting, we knew straight away that these were the right lights for the job" said ELS owner Justin McMullin. "We've always been impressed by the vivid colours and spectacular brightness we get from Chauvet's range, and because of this we only had to use six fixtures in all to light up such a large building." Justin also noted that the mounting hardware offers added versatility, as he was able to use the mounting and double-yoke brackets as floor stands.
