UK - MCS will be at PLASA09 (13-16 September, Earls Court, London) for the first time to demonstrate how its MCS-rm hire solution product can support the business needs of the audio-visual (AV) hire market. This will be the first time company has showcased MCS-rm, its premier Windows-based hire solution, at the PLASA Show.

Nick Thomson, sales manager at MCS explains: "We have been working hard on the detail of our hire solution to ensure it meets the specialist requirements of the AV market and believe we offer all the specific functionality the AV market demands. This is on top of its core functionality generating quotations, contracts and invoices as well as aggregating all delivery and collection notes together with all the associated documents. We feel it is time to take a stand at PLASA."

MCS-rm has all the functionality necessary to underpin the specific goals of an AV hire firm. Specifically, this could be anything from the redesigned interface that displays a convenient daily pop-up alert message highlighting the status of equipment on, or off, hire - to the scheduling of crew and transportation, project costing and deal pricing.

MCS-rm also offers the AV market a complete analysis of equipment availability and utilisation as well as a forward booking function that offers a graphical display of equipment availability and scheduling to help hirers identify potential booking conflicts and shortages.

"What's more," Thomson adds, "by mixing and matching a range of optional functionality, such as Business Intelligence (MCS-bi) and CRM tools (MCS-crm), we can help AV hire companies deliver relevant management information direct to their desktops, providing the resources that achieve faster and more efficient working practices."

The success of MCS-rm has been proven time and again in the marketplace by satisfied customers. One of the more recent implementations of MCS-rm was with Gordon Audio Visual, a leading AV hirer. Managing director Nick Clark says: "Thanks to MCS-rm, we have much better control of our operation. We can now track all assets from quotation to invoice and we finally have an accurate centralised record of all transactions to which we can gain immediate access. We can understand the status of our equipment, for instance its availability, location and utilisation at any time, wherever we are based."

Clark added: "MCS-rm has saved us time and eliminated many costly misunderstandings. At last all our quotations are recorded in one place and any outstanding quotations can be followed up so no opportunity is overlooked. We can also analyse the reason for a declined quotations. This gives us a better business insight."
