The new photographic studio at the UK headquarters of Martin-Baker
UK - A.C. Special Projects has provided a studio lighting ceiling track system for a new photographic studio at the UK headquarters of Martin-Baker, the long established manufacturer of aircraft ejection seats and related safety equipment.

With headquarters in Buckinghamshire and locations in France, Italy and the United States, Martin-Baker hasestablished extensive modern facilities and specialist engineering capabilities to ensure the highest standards of product quality and safety.

Continuing this investment in its facilities, Martin-Baker decided it was time to replace their existing product photography room with a modern studio lighting system.

The company approached A.C. Special Projects to supply and install an IFF Advanced Rigging studio lighting ceiling track system to enable easy manoeuvre and setting of suspended lights above the studio floor when taking 360° photos of their ejection seats and other safety products.

The system installation consists of three ceiling-mounted rails each featuring two pantographs suspending umbrella flash and soft box lighting. The studio lighting can be moved in almost any direction and at any height, whilst keeping the studio floor completely clear of cables and lighting stands. A.C. Special Projects provided the end to end solution, including installing power electrical sockets overhead and connecting up the lighting equipment on the ceiling track system.

David Thompson, chief photographer for Martin Baker, commented, "We had the opportunity to move to a custom built photographic studio on site after 43 years in cramped surroundings. A.C. Special Projects built the lighting rig for us on time and in budget. We were very pleased with their professionalism and follow up. Our studio is up and running with the least fuss and disruption for the company. Well done."
