Latest addition to the ColorBlast family presented at PLASA 2010
UK Architainment Lighting will be showcasing the new Philips Color Kinetics ColorBlast TRX, the latest generation in the ColorBlast family, at PLASA 2010.

Over the last seven year, the ColorBlast range has established itself as an industry standard lighting tool, being used extensively in the concert, theatrical and production rental sectors worldwide. Now, with additional colours and enhanced features, the ColorBlast®TRX builds on this pedigree. This fully-featured RGBAW LED wash/flood/spotlight offers an enhanced colour range, light output of up to 1577 lumens, and onboard addressing and configuration features.

Key features of this technology include five-channel RGBAW in/out, three-channel RGB in/out, and three-channel RGB in mapped to five-channel RGBAW out modes. Amber and neutral white LEDs blend with red, green, and blue LEDs to produce a significantly expanded colour palette, adding intense yellows, high-quality whites, and a range of subtle pastel colours to the millions of saturated colours achievable with standard RGB lighting fixtures, says the company.

This latest version of the ColorBlast series has DMX and fixed colour modes, eight- bit or 16-bit resolution that means smooth dimming and precise colour control, adjustable dimming curves and LED transition speeds that emulate the behaviour of other Philips Color Kinetics fixtures and conventional theatrical fixtures with DMX dimming.

Rob Merrilees, managingr director of Big Picture Creative, has ColorBlast fixtures in his rental department and has used them extensively for numerous exhibitions and shows, including the Olympics and Winter Olympics. Commenting on the ColorBlast TRX, Merrilees said, "The ColorBlast is just a great all round lighting instrument and with the addition of amber and white LEDs, coupled with the on-board facilities; this latest ColorBlast will really satisfy the demands of today's theatrical lighting designers."
