Sydney's EventSound enjoyed a busy summer
Australia - It was a busy summer for Sydney's EventSound with their gear seen all over the city at such events as Sydney Running Festival, Jazz in the Gardens and even Prince William at the Block.

Making life easier for the crew on all of these events was the JBL VRX compact line array system owned by EventSound. The RedBull Junior Surf Pro held on Cronulla beach is a good example. Featuring a line up of bands such as Urthboy, Children Collide and DJ's, the event culminated in an award ceremony hosted by surf legend Mick Fanning.

EventSound were contracted through production manager Peter Pollard to supply the audio and lighting for the temporary beach stage as well as links into the VIP Marquee.

"We required a sound system with a good throw distance as we needed to get even coverage down the beach," remarked Keith Clarkson, managing director of EventSound. "The JBL VRX system was perfect for this. Since we've purchased the JBL VRX we have found its versatility to be great and this was one of the occasions where we put it to task as a large scale concert box."

Six of the VRX 932LAP boxes were flown along with a couple of VRX918 subs and two more 932 boxes were used as ground-fill on top of four a side VRX 918 subwoofers.

Ten JBL SRX 712M monitors were used for stage foldback with side-fills and drum-fills all powered by Crown XTI 4000 amplifiers.

Soundcraft GB Series mixing consoles were used at both FOH and Monitor positions and all radio microphones were Shure UHF-R series.
