Karl Christmas will support the expansion of Yamaha's Commercial Installation System (CIS) business around the world
UK - Yamaha Commercial Audio has announced that Karl Christmas is moving to a position within Yamaha Corporation of Japan, with Terry Murphy stepping up to Karl's position as sales manager for Yamaha Music Europe in the UK and RoI.

Karl has been a familiar figure to Yamaha customers and the industry media for many years. He first joined the company in 1988 and has combined his extensive technical knowledge and experience with a flair for personal communication to great effect.

His new role in Yamaha's Global Pro Audio technical Marketing Group, based at the company's R&D Centre in London, will see him performing a key role in supporting the expansion of Yamaha's Commercial Installation System (CIS) business around the world.

"Karl is uniquely qualified for this new position in an important segment for Yamaha's future business growth. I would like to thank him for all he has done for us and wish him every success in his new role," says Nils-Peter Keller, marketing director, Pro Audio at Yamaha Music Europe GmbH.

Terry joined Yamaha in 2009 and was highly successful in maximising sales and business development opportunities in the company's Electronic Keyboard Division. He transferred those skills to the position of Southern UK and RoI sales representative at Yamaha Commercial Audio last year, a role he proved equally successful in. His promotion will see him expand his remit to overall sales management of the UK and RoI.

"Karl is leaving big shoes to fill, but Terry is an outstanding replacement. I am sure he will prove just as successful as in his previous roles at Yamaha and look forward to his input into our continued success and growth," says Robert Webster, sales and marketing director, Professional Music Division, Yamaha Music Europe (UK).
