The IH6500 is designed for professional interpreters who prefer an integrated headset
USA - At InfoComm 2016, Shure introduced the IH6500 Interpreter Headset. Designed for professional interpreters who prefer an integrated headset, the IH6500 provides "excellent speech intelligibility, comfortable fit, and multiple connectivity options for use in multi-language meetings and conferences".

The dual-sided headset has removable ear pads, allowing for convenient cleaning, and also features a flexible gooseneck microphone boom that pivots 270 degrees. The IH6500 is compatible with Shure DCS 6000-series Interpreter Sets, including the IS 6132 P.

"Comfort is essential when performing interpretation jobs and we kept this top of mind when designing the IH6500," said Chris Lyons, senior manager, conferencing products at Shure. "The lightweight and compact fit gives more freedom of movement, accommodates extended wear, and offers a high-quality alternative to using a gooseneck microphone. The earphone speakers are designed to maximize speech intelligibility. For seamless integration, the IH6500 also meets ISO requirements."

During meetings and events, the new IH6500 enables interpreters to move around or lean back in their chair while maintaining a consistent audio level and quality. The cardioid microphone is positioned close to the mouth to reduce pickup of adjacent voices and minimize background noise.

Interpreters can wear the IH6500 with the mic on the left or right side and have access to the included 3.5 mm TRSS and DIN adapter cables to permit use with a variety of interpreter units.
