UK - Having firmly established itself in the live arena, as with other consoles in the SD Series, British audio solutions manufacturer DiGiCo has now added a broadcast application specific extension which allows it to become the SD5B, putting this processing powerhouse firmly in the broadcast arena.

The SD5 fits directly into the shoes of the D5, the console manufacturer's first digital mixing desk, but benefits from the advancements made possible by DiGiCo's proprietary Stealth Digital Processing and floating point Super FPGA technology, which adds a host of new features and a much bigger punch, says the company.

As with the SD5, the SD5B's worksurface is a low noise, heat dissipation worksurface benefiting from Hidden-til-lit (HTL) technology, yet its five digitally driven full colour TFT LCD screens, three of which are touch sensitive, have a new configuration that allows e

UK - Harting is now offering an extensive range of multipole connectors that can help reduce theme park maintenance costs for equipment installed in harsh outdoor environment conditions.

The robust characteristics of these connectors result from the use of alternative material finishes and mating protection seals, which lead to extended product lifetimes.

These features can also be particularly useful where ride, audio-visual and lighting control systems may be exposed to the cleaning fluids that are necessary to ensure a safe operating environment for the public.

Harting's comprehensive range of different hoods and housings offers IP65, IP67 and IP68/69K degrees of protection. Products are available that offer protection against ultraviolet radiation, ozone and salt spray, as well as connectors with different degrees of chemical resistance.

UK - LumenRadio is exhibiting at London's PLASA Show, stand P30, and will debut the revolutionary new SuperNova 3 software.

Utilising the Art-Net and RDM management protocols, SuperNova 3 enables system-wide control of the entire lighting infrastructure. Alerts and monitoring can be configured for each element of the system - when a temperature is out of range, a push alert can be sent to a smartphone or sent as an email, providing essential status information never before available to production staff. The system offers full RDM control including configuration of DMX start addresses and personality, as well as advanced monitoring and status history information to provide detailed feedback.

Much of today's RDM control is centred on either the console or handheld tools for connecting to a single device. Marcus Bengtsson, Senior R&D engineer at LumenRadio explains, "What ma

UK - In perhaps one of the more unusual live music projects this year, electronic music artist Scanner has teamed up with the Heritage Orchestra for Live_Transmission: Joy Division Reworked. The project is a musical and visual reinterpretation of the work of one of the UK's most influential bands.

Live_Transmission sees a selection of Joy Division songs deconstructed by Scanner and reinterpreted by the "ferociously non-classical" Heritage Orchestra to a backdrop of dismantled Joy Division imagery.

Visuals for the show were provided by Matthew J Watkins of the Beat13 collective. To display these atmospheric images, XL Video supplied front projection on to a screen behind the orchestra using a Barco FLM HD20 projector. A gauze screen in front of the orchestra was used for rear projection images supplied from one of XL's Barco SLM R12+ projectors.
