PLASA09: LTM to launch new LoadGuard Hoist

These hoists are available to higher safety standards- all of these standards allow some form of load positioning and holding without secondary suspension to support the load.
The quietness and low visibility (including black chain) make these hoists ideal for venue use, and the ruggedness make them ideal for production applications, says the company.
LTM will also be showing the range of Guardian Controllers and a wide range of its other lifting products including a new load sensing system for entertainment applications.

Nova Flower 2Ks on U2 tour

Seven of the fixtures - specially developed by Italian manufacturer Novalight for the tour and now in full production - are positioned around the stadiums in the audience bleachers, pointing back at the stage.
Say's PRG's group asset director Paul Weaver, "They are an incredibly powerful effect, even contending with all the other lighting and LED screens, we're really impressed with their effect". He also reports that they are withstanding the rigours of touring extremely well.
The fixtures were sold to PRG, U2's main lighting contractors, by Lightfactor Sales, Novalight's exclusive UK distributor.

Team leader Susie D'Andrea managed her 45 strong crew to take on the impressive task of serving over 12,000 meals during the 12 days on site.
Eat to the Beat's operations director Mary Shelley-Smith said, "What a great festival - the sun was shining down all weekend and everyone was in good form. It's great to see so many of our regular touring clients performing together on the festival circuit. PLASA09: Void to make Prime loudspeaker launches

On the stand will be two new models in Void's UK-built Infinite X amplifier range - the Infinite X7 and Infinite X8 power amplifiers. Completing the company's line up at PLASA09 will be industry veteran Ken DeLoria, who recently joined Void as head of its US division.

There will be more for visitors to see, too, as a further 10 new exhibitors have signed up for the show at Earls Court on September 13-16, bringing the total of new and returning exhibitors to 50. The seminar program has also been expanded, with two new audio-related sessions on Tuesday, 15 September.

The LedCyc9*RGBW LED-panel is a powerful, modular backlight system for rear projection on cycloramas and useful effect lighting system. It creates a completely even and flicker free field of light. The panel was developed for use in the theatre, entertainment and Film/TV market.
Each panel integrates nine symmetric high power RGBW LED pixels, each capable of producing any colour temperature across the entire spectrum of visible light. Special diffuser caps (additional accessory) in front of each pixel enable a new dimension in set design, says the company.
Each pixel can be controlled by DMX512, ArtNet* or EcuNet. Different settings like panel mode, start address, PWM (pulse wide modulation) and other functions can be set via remote control.

PLASA09: Cornered Audio lights up

At the exhibition, Cornered will show a new version of the existing Cornered top-boxes. The SU - Speak-Up - versions combine Speaker and Uplight in one practical solution. The SU versions feature an LED spot in either the top and/or bottom plates delivering up- and/or downlight. The LED uplight works well with the flush mountable Cornered cabinets, so the SU versions gives customers an opportunity of getting ambient light without installing separate lighting fixtures, says the company.
