Germany - The Schauspiel Hannover, part of the Niedersächsische Staatstheater Hannover, offers the audience theatre, entertainment and music in five different venues. In addition to the Schauspielhaus on Prinzenstraße near the main station, these are the Cumberlandsche Bühne, the Cumberlandsche Galerie as well as Ballhof Eins and Ballhof Zwei in the old town.
After the sound mixing desk had been renewed in the Schauspielhaus two years ago, the next logical step was the modernisation of the main and back-stage sound system.
The Schauspiel Hannover serves a wide range of performances and reinforces them as needed. “In general we are seeing an increasing demand for microports in theatre productions,” says sound engineer Markus Folberth. “The demands of the various productions as well as the guest events in the house are already described as very 'mature'.”

Switzerland - For 40 years, the Caves du Manoir in Martigny, Valais have been used for cultural events of all kinds. Different crews, collaborators and teams have been part of the journey through its musical history and the authenticity and the inherent spirit of the venue has become an unspoken heritage.
To celebrate its 40th anniversary, the venue’s committee decided to renovate the entire caves, including its technical infrastructure, choosing a DiGiCo SD12 plus D2-Rack, supplied by Tonspur AG, DiGiCo’s distributor for the region, as the new Front of House console and upgrading its existing Meyer Sound loudspeaker system.
Sacha Knezevic Rudaz, technical director of the caves’ choices were inspired by the Montreux Jazz Festival. Rudaz, who has been part of the festival audio crew for many years, had had the chance to try out the SD12 during last year’s fest

Having voyaged to the Arctic and Antarctic between 1893 and 1912 with its Norwegian crew at the helm, and carried the first person to reach the South Pole in 1911, it came to rest in 1936 - and has since evolved into a much-lauded tourist attraction in the city, with an annual footfall of over 200,000 every year.
Drawing visitors from all over the globe, the museum sought to upgrade its offering in 2018 to provide a world-class, immersive experience – turning to UK-based specialist visitor attraction AV integrator Sarner International to lead the ambitious and complex installation project.
With the objective of making visitors feel a part of an arctic adventure, immersive audio and projection were to take centre stage in the renovation. However, the challenge was how to go abou

UK - Creative Technology (CT) is taking on the 100-mile Vélo Birmingham & Midlands course on Sunday 12 May in aid of Backup - The Technical Entertainment charity.
“CT has supported Backup from the outset and we’ve often said we should do something more than simply supporting its KartFest and GolfFest events,” saysDave Crump, CEO CT Europe & Middle East. “When an opportunity to enter a four-person team into a challenging 100 mile cycle event, it seemed an ideal opportunity to raise some money and awareness for the charity whilst getting fit and Team VeloCT was born.”

UK - Opened in 1894, the Grand Theatre Wolverhampton is one of the city’s finest examples of Victorian architecture. The origins of the project date back to the end of 2017, when the theatre’s head of lighting and sound Anthony Aston and Mark Ryal, associate director technical services, contacted Stage Electrics’ audio division and spoke to audio specialist Jamie Gosney to discuss a new sound system. Though very successful at its original location, Victorie recently moved, its operators opting for an exciting relocation into the city of Alkmaar. With an upgrade in venue, owners of the club decided this was a logical opportunity to upgrade their entire sound system. After reviewing numerous competitive demos, it was the Clair Brothers system demonstrated by The Audio Specialists that rose to the top.

The Mistrals were delivered last autumn to the Event Production department, which provides audio, video and lighting support for any event on campus, including concerts, conferences and speaking events. The Mistrals are mounted in truss in a multi-use event space, which hosts a wide array of entertainment programmes and gatherings.

“One of our technicians had seen Mistral at a trade show. Doug Mekanik, o

UK - Rope Assemblies has supplied a range of Doughty kit to the Royal Albert Hall to help improve safety in the performance space. Spain - When one of the world’s largest night clubs puts on a special season-end event, its magnitude is difficult to ignore. Open since 1993 on the Spanish island of Ibiza, this mammoth club can host up to 10,000 guests at one time. On the season’s finale evening, Privilege Ibiza made the decision to employ the Clair Brothers C12 loudspeaker system, along with an assortment of more Clair Brothers gear, to cover the entire venue.
The size of the venue allows management to redesign facilities for individual parties and artistic shows. For this event, they didn’t hold back, calling on Clair Brothers’ Spanish distribution and rental partner, VTècnics, to recommend and design a sound system worthy of this special occasion.
Josep Maria Serra, production manager at VTècnics reports: “The Clair Brothers team understands the concept and value of global sharing bet

UK - Bacchus Bar & Club in Bishop’s Stortford’s recently brought in XS Audio Visual to design and install an extensive sound system, powered by just two amplifiers from Linea Research.
The entire project had to be completed to a tight deadline. “We had only four days to completely rip out the existing sound and lighting systems and commission a whole new nightclub sound, lighting, and video install, including relocating the DJ booth and existing TV video feeds,” recalls XSAV managing director Lee Michael.
Michael describes the Bacchus Bar as “a perfectly sized, rectangular-shaped venue that can accommodate 500 people comfortably.” On weekends, the well-established hot spot is often busy enough to reach full capacity, with DJs energizing the crowd. During the week, the club’s entertainment systems are used for karaoke and sports events.

It was designed and constructed from scratch, by a team of determined, experienced ravers, motivated by a common aim to create the ultimate music destination that put art before profit. An instinct for moving with the times informed their decision to seek a new sound system for the popular 200 capacity venue. The Monastery chose a Pioneer Pro Audio XY Series system.
The pre-existing system looked the part and had served its purpose reasonably well but the sense was that audiences have become far mor
