At PLASA 2010: Jo Cooke (amBX marketing co-ordinator), Cooper Controls sales manager Peter Coles and amBX sales manager John Atkin
UK - Watford- based Cooper Controls has secured exclusive European distribution of amBX technology through its Cogent XC LED Lighting Controller. amBX is an innovative technology offering an alternative method for the control of colour changing LEDs.

Says Cooper Controls' Peter Coles, "This is an inventive and different solution for a number of applications from bars, restaurants, hotels, sports and health clubs, designer retail, to home entertainment and high-end AV systems. The technology perfectly complements Cogent's extensive LED product portfolio."

Jo Cooke from amBX comments, "Our widely patented amBX technology has been developed over a number of years so we wanted a company with a good reputation and understanding of LEDs in both entertainment and architectural lighting markets to maximise the potential of this product which is driven by amBX technology. Cooper Controls has all the elements, an enthusiastic sales force with lots of contacts and the Cogent brand is well respected."

The key points of the Cogent XC LED lighting controller are its simple set-up and ease of use. No programming is required as the box is pre-programmed with a number of algorithmic sequences that trigger a wide variety of lights and colour changing effects - to video and audio. Music can be triggered by tempo, etc. Dynamic zoning allows groups of different lighting effects to work in one space within one DMX universe.

The deal was completed just in time for the Cogent XC controller to be on the Cooper Controls stand at PLASA 2010, and Peter Coles reported much interest in it. "People liked the novelty and concept of the unit and we are already discussing several multi-site projects," he said.
