‘The convention was dedicated to the industry's most pressing issues’
Germany - The second LEaT con Networking Convention in Hamburg impressed not only with its considerable growth, but also with its thematic depth and diversity - 5,200 participants and 170 exhibitors celebrated the second edition of the LEaT con.
With over 100 programme items spread across six stages, a masterclass area, two workshop spaces, eight side events and various specials, LEaT con 2023 was the place where industry experts met, networked and discussed the latest trends. A special highlight this year was the first-time integration of the Studioszene as a sub-event, which focused on audio producing and recording.
Beyond the pure numbers, LEaT con 2023 set clear accents in terms of content. The convention was dedicated to the industry's most pressing issues:
Sustainability was put in the spotlight through presentations such as Implementing, Testing, Celebrating & Exhibiting - ISO Certified Sustainability as a Permanent Task for Lollapalooza Berlin and The Road to Sustainable Euro 2024: Concept and Feasibility.
Artificial Intelligence was recognised by speakers such as Dr. Uve Samuels and lighting designer JoJo Tilmann, who highlighted the role of AI in the entertainment industry and modern lighting design.
The commitment to female empowerment included LWDTT Live: Let Women Do The Talking and talks about FLINTA in the event industry.
The young talent development programme offered trainees and students an in-depth, hands-on look at the industry through guided tours, workshops and activities.
"The success of LEaT con 2023 is a testament to the hard work and enthusiasm of the team. The industry understood our vision and embraced it with enthusiasm. There is a lot of passion in this project, and we still have great things in store," says Marcel Courth, managing director of the professional technology & live communication unit at Ebner Media Group.
Duc Nguyen, director LEaT, adds: "The impressive numbers and positive feedback confirm: Our bold move to launch LEaT con in the midst of the 2021 pandemic was spot on. Working closely with partners, we have created an industry event that lives up to its name."
