Attracting visitors with a combined spending power of £130m, the development of the show reflects the continued expansion of the industry in the region
UK - With an increase of 26% of floorspace, the second edition of PLASA Focus Glasgow has been hailed a success with 50% more brands showcasing the latest in live entertainment technology and attendees increased by 32% since the inaugural show in 2014.

Cementing itself as the industry's essential meeting place for the region, the show - which opened its doors at the SECC from 20-21 January - offered live product demonstrations, two days of high quality seminar sessions and over 75 brands in an environment ideal for networking and generating business face-to-face. Attracting visitors with a combined spending power of £130m, the development of the show reflects the continued expansion of the industry in the region.

David Steedsy Stevenson from Ward Steedsy Audio, distributor of Funktion-One in Scotland comments: "It's the first time we've had a trade stand at a PLASA event. This year we are pleasantly surprised, we've had a lot of traffic through yesterday and today including people we never knew before and we are making new contacts. There is the social side of it too - it was great fun last night meeting up with lots of people and the PLASA staff were very helpful."

William Cheng of returning exhibitor Avolites adds: "The show is great, we've had a lot of people in the industry visiting us with questions and it's been great demonstrating some of our new Titan software to them. We are really pleased with the quality of visitors and the leads we are finding here."

Attendance for the industry-leading seminar programme reflected the 556 visitors pre-registered to attend after the programme attracted expert speakers such as d&b audiotechnik's Adam Hockley, the HSE's Adrian Tinson and Gavin Bull as well as Grant Anderson and the Botanic Light's team from Black Light. Professional development plays a crucial role in the industry and PLASA endeavours to deliver free topical content to encourage learning and development.

PLASA's director of events, Christopher Toulmin comments: "We are pleased with the lively atmosphere on the show floor and have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from exhibitors and visitors alike. We are looking forward to PLASA Focus Leeds (10-11 May) which has grown in size this year due to exhibitor demand with the addition of The Pavilion, and to the PLASA Show at London Olympia (18-20 September) which will demonstrate major changes and development to the show's proposition. The PLASA Events team are working hard to deliver business platforms that meet the needs of the industry and the success of the Glasgow show is a great testament to that."
