UK - MDG’s Ice Fog Q HP low fog generator has been chosen by Philip Marfleet of Marfleet Events to tour with Il Divo and provide the atmosphere for a very special moment during the show.
Il Divo, the multi-national vocal quartet, had the same line up for the past 18 years until, sadly, founder member, Carlos Marín, passed away from COVID-19 last December. The group had been part-way through their Motown-themed tour, For Once in My Life, and, after much heart-searching and encouragement from their fans, decided to continue the tour and rearrange it to honour their long-term friend.
The reconfigured tour, renamed Greatest Hits Tour, began in February and will continue until December – a total of 105 international dates in 2022 - with more to come in 2023.

Mexico - 15 September marks the commemoration of the Grito de Independencia (Mexican Independence Day) - the most important ceremony in the country. This year it was able to resume again in front of an audience at the Zócalo in the centre of Mexico City after two years of being held remotely due to the COVID pandemic. According to official calculations more than 160,000 people celebrated the national holiday out on the streets again.
The vastly experienced Norteño group, Los Tigres del Norte - famed throughout the Latam countries - headlined the event with a show that lasted more than three hours.
The production work was carried out by the company KW, and for the third consecutive year Martin Audio systems were used as the main PA for the ceremony. They provided audio coverage for a site measuring 46,800 sq.m.

Post Malone’s Twelve Carat Tour is in support of his new album, Twelve Carat Toothache. The North American tour kicked off on 10 September in Omaha and will wrap in mid-November with a pair of dates in Los Angeles.
The new tour reunites Malone with Dan Norman, owner of LA-based Evolve Lights, Inc., who serves as his lighting designer and technical director. Norman previously designed one-off shows and a festival run for Malone last year, acted as the lighting designer for his Billboard Awards 2020 performance, and assisted on Malone’s Runaway Tour in 2019.

BeWunder spin-off takes over N&M ME operations

Germany/UAE - Neumann&Müller Veranstaltungstechnik has sold its subsidiary companies for the Middle East and system integration as a spin-off. The current managing directors of the two companies, Jens Gießler and Felix Erdmann, take over 100% of the two and will run them under the name BeWunder. They will act independently in the Middle East event market with a new brand.
N&M projects were previously planned and executed by two Neumann&Müller Veranstaltungstechnik subsidiaries. The teams in Dubai, Berlin and Munich created technical solutions such as those for national and thematic pavilions at Expo 2017 in Astana (Kazakhstan) and the World Expo2020 in Dubai; other system integration jobs include projects for Porsche in Stuttgart and Topgolf in Oberhausen. Creative Technology delivers for President’s Cup

UAE - The UAEFA President’s Cup took place at the Al Ain’s Hazza bin Zayed Stadium on 21 October 2022.
Creative Technology delivered a spectacular projection which was mapped across the football pitch for the opening ceremony and distributed sitewide show communication for the annual tournament.
One of the key highlights from the evening was the projection show that covered a 1200 sqm area. CT supplied four double-stacked Panasonic PT-RQ50K projectors, to achieve 600 lux projection, installed in a bespoke purpose-built structure that was fully enclosed and temperature-controlled. Projection was integrated on a fully redundant network ring controlled from FOH and utilised CT’s new 1G and 10G fibre networking solutions. Playback was powered by Disguise VX4 Suite and full 4k signal distribution.

Germany - Munich’s traditional weekend of classical music, Klassik am Odeonsplatz, by Pro Events Veranstaltungs GmbH, which is held in the historic city-centre square named after the former concert hall on its north-western side, took place in mid-July 2022.
Over two sold-out nights the event hosted a programme of classical music from the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra on the first night, conducted by Daniel Harding, and an evening of movie theme music played by the Symphony Orchestra of the Bavarian Radio, conducted by Sir Simon Rattle ahead of his three-year residency as conductor of the Munich Philharmonic next year.

UK - The Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) has hired Royal Albert Hall executive Ollie Jeffery as director of event operations and technology. Jeffery spent over 18 years with the Royal Albert Hall, most recently as head of production and technical.
Jeffery’s experience at the Royal Albert Hall included developing the venue’s lighting and audio services, establishing an apprentice scheme, and supporting the delivery of around 400 events a year.

Creative Careers - The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport has launched a £950,000 careers programme aimed at giving young people from under-represented backgrounds opportunities in the creative industries. The Creative Careers Programme, which will include theatres, is being led by ScreenSkills, and will target 53 priority areas across the country, including Barking and Dagenham, Wolverhampton, Rotherham, Slough and Swindon, the DCMS said.
Delivery partners include Get Into Theatre, One Dance UK, UK Music, UK Theatre and the Society of London Theatre. The programme aims to help young people from under-represented backgrounds "break into the creative industries" and will offer guidance on careers, help pay for lesson plans, establish a dedicated careers website and provide training for careers advisers.

UK - HH Electronics has announced the launch of its TNA active line array system, designed for small to medium sized applications, including live sound reinforcement, bars, clubs, houses of worship, education settings, conferencing, and corporate events.
At the heart of the system are the TNA-2120SA, a multi-channel active subwoofer with integrated Class D amplifier which features two high power 12” low frequency woofers with high output, and the TNA-1800SA, a powerful single 18” active low frequency subwoofer.

UK – The summer season at Warwick Castle presented back-to-back challenges for Full Production, called upon by event producer Pixel Artworks to provide lighting, crew and expertise for the historic venue’s two big visitor attractions – Dragon Slayer and Sundown Spectacular.
Warwick Castle, owned by Merlin Entertainments, hosted the two family-fun attractions in the spacious castle courtyard, just a few days apart in August. Pixel Artworks brought in Full Production having worked with them on a number of previous projects. Full Production’s director of live events and touring, Marc Thornton, served as lighting designer and led the company’s team under the guidance of Pixel Artworks’ production manager, Joe Kelly.

UK - With more than 100 new exhibitors, a number of product launches and a 25 per cent increase in visitor numbers year on year, Newbury Showground was ‘abuzz with all things event related’ when The Showman’s Show 2022 headed there from 19 – 20 October.
