UK - Martin Audio has announced the appointment of Henry Packard as its new finance director.
Henry had previously been financial controller at parent company Focusrite. He said the drive to fill the vacant position, following the departure of his predecessor Steve Miller, had become more pressing with the growth of Martin Audio and the launch of sister brand Optimal Audio. “As Dom [Harter, Martin Audio MD] and Sally [McKone, Group CFO] are in regular discussion the move came about quite organically,” he said.

UK - This year marks the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II and in honour of the historical anniversary, the UK is holding several events celebrating her 70-year reign. At The Royal Windsor Horse Show in May, Elation Professional had its own workhorse on display albeit not of the equine variety. Germany - The current system update of DirectOut’s Prodigy series gives the devices another boost in meeting the requirements of the market. For the modular audio converter Prodigy.MC and the multifunctional audio processor Prodigy.MP the Automator Licence is now available.
With Automator it is possible to programme triggers to run tasks in an automated way. Triggers can be coming from different sources, such as parameter or status changes in the device itself, a MIDI or OSC command from an external device, a cron job (periodically recurring trigger) or can be created based on time (e.g. LTC).
Device actions such as gains, mutes, snapshot recalls, input manager switches and EARSTM source selection or GPOs can be triggered. And it is also possible to send custom defined messages via OSC and MIDI, or to hosts via HTTP, UDP, TCP commands.

Germany - Those familiar with Frankfurt’s club scene know immediately where they are when they enter the new Zoom: in the former Cocoon Club, Sven Väth’s techno temple. The membrane walls with the unmistakable honeycomb structure are still there and characterise the visual imagery of the place.
To ensure that Zoom is nevertheless perceived as an independent club with its own recognition value, the operators of Zoom Frankfurt GmbH and client Ardi Goldman called on the expertise of lighting designer JoJo Tillmann, among others. UK - Established in 1583, the University of Edinburgh is one of the world's oldest universities in continuous operation. The university has five main campuses in Edinburgh that support more than 42,000 students, placing the university among the top 10 largest universities in the UK.
In early 2020, as the realities of the pandemic were starting to take hold, the School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh reached out to the university's Learning Spaces Technology team asking for a way to share audio between its three instruction labs, and then also share audio back-and-forth with students attending remotely. Pay Offer - West End backstage and front-of-house workers have voted to accept a revised pay offer from the Society of London Theatre – which includes a 10% increase to minimum pay rates. The accepted pay offer will see a number of other revisions implemented in the SOLT/BECTU Collective Bargaining Agreement, which covers pay and working conditions for front-of-house and backstage staff in roles including wardrobe, sound, box office and stage door.
These include the removal of a ‘force majeure’ clause - allowing for lay-offs in the event of further Covid restrictions - which was among a series of variations to the agreement that were negotiated to get the industry back on its feet after the pandemic lockdowns, from 31 March, 2023. Italy - Twenty years after first opening in Italy, the complete original cast of Notre-Dame de Paris is back on stage to celebrate the anniversary. Following the success of the show in Paris, the musical made its official Italian debut at Gran Teatro of Rome in 2002, featuring the translated lyrics of Pasquale Panella. Produced in collaboration with Enzo Product Ltd, entirely curated and distributed by Vivo Concerti, and under the direction of Gilles Maheu, the 2022 tour will include over 180 shows throughout the Italian peninsula.
