Opened by the fast growing company's Charlie Gilkes and Duncan Stirling in April 2010, Maggie's in Chelsea is a 1980s-inspired boutique club named after the former British Prime Minister.

It had been trading largely without dynamic lighting until the operators contacted David Graham's London-based installation company, based on their sensitive lighting implementation at another heavily themed Inception venue, DISCO in Soho.

USA - When Sagebrush Community Church of Albuquerque, New Mexico, built their new worship centre, they decided to take visual presentation of their message to a new level with installation of a high resolution LED video screen by Elation Professional.

"Sagebrush had been using a large amount of video elements in the previous worship centre but when they started the second phase project in building a new worship centre, they wanted to improve upon that and chose the Elation EPV762 video panels," stated Stephen MacAurther, lighting systems designer and engineer at VAST Technologies Inc., the Albuquerque-based systems design and installation company that completed the install.

USA - At the NAB 2014 tradeshow, 7-10 April, in Las Vegas, ETC will display a wide range of products for the big screen, small screen and everything in between. Germany - At this year's Prolight+Sound Sommer Cable once again presented their product portfolio at a large booth. UK - Stage One raised a glass and bade farewell to sales director Simon Wood who retired last week, paying tribute to his 30 years' service to the company. Simon, or Woody as he is affectionately known throughout the business, was one of the founding directors alongside Jim Tinsley and Mark Johnson. Together they have delivered some remarkable projects and have grown a strong business on the back of this success.

Simon sold his shareholding to Mark and Jim last year and has spent the last few months preparing to handover to others in the business. Managing director Mark Johnson paid the following tribute:

USA - Cadac Holdings has announced the appointment of US industry veteran Paul Morini, as general manager Cadac USA.

Morini joins Cadac from Music Group, where he was customer service manager for Midas and Klark Teknik for the US and Canada. He will help establish the company's office and sales representative network for the US and Canada, mirroring the recently announced initiative in the UK and Eire.

USA - Czech Republic-based lighting manufacturer Robe Lighting has appointed Thommy Hall as regional sales manager of the Western United States, effective 24 March.

Hall, based in Las Vegas, was most recently with Philips Lighting as the western regional sales manager for Philips Entertainment.

Due to customer demand and increased popularity, Robe Lighting is expanding its reach in the U.S. under new CEO Bob Schacherl. This is one of several new appointments to be announced in the coming weeks in order to provide Robe clients better sales support and enhanced customer service.

UK - Nick Gray of London-based creative lighting and visual design practice Renegade produced a raw and uncompromising lighting installation in the Turbine Hall of the Tate Modern art gallery in London for brand and live communications agency Mission, who were celebrating their tenth anniversary with a special event.

The Tate Modern - formally Bankside Power Station - is among Gray's favourite spaces to light in the city. He has also worked on several events and projects for Mission and is familiar with the scope and style of their work which give him plenty of ideas about the right ambience to create in.
