China - L-Acoustics has reported that counterfeit ARCS II loudspeakers had been seized and destroyed following an investigation carried out by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC).
Working in conjunction with the GACC, L-Acoustics provided information to determine the authenticity of the suspicious products; those were later seized and dismantled at a recycling facility. GACC officials were present at the premises to attest that the stock had been destroyed and the materials - recycled, reports L-Acoustics.
The manufacturers of the counterfeit products were prosecuted as part of the L-Acoustics Anti-Counterfeiting Task Force's mission “to eradicate fake products”. “We thank the Youyiguan Customs team and our local counsel, Wanhuida, for their cooperation,” comments L-Acoustics legal counsel Laurent Ostojski. “This is

This year, organisers have vowed to "keep everything in the room" - even when that meant scrapping a planned performance from US star Doja Cat, after members of her team tested positive for COVID. As a result, tonight's performances are exclusively coming from British artists - including all fiv

Europe - A number of rental companies across Europe are streamlining their hire fleets for the coming touring and outdoor seasons by acquiring Optocore’s Festival Boxes. These are available in Grand (12 SFP) and Petit (6 SFP) fibre transport platforms in order to convert and send multiple signal formats down a single fibre.
One leading international hire company, Major Tom, first saw the device at the ISE Show in Amsterdam, and after being given a system to demo they knew right away that this would become an essential tool in their inventory. “Why run six cables when you only need to run two,” reasons Major Tom project manager, Andy Banks. “It makes total sense even on non-festival shows; we can run PA returns on AVB, and then multiple consoles for headline and opening acts on just a single snake with a pair of fibres, rather than multiple runs.”

Commenting on the repositioning of the company under its new ‘Entec Live’ moniker, chairman Nick Pendleton stated that Covid had given them the opportunity “to pause, reflect and decide.”
He explains: “After celebrating our golden anniversary in 2018 and buying our warehouse, we started to formulate a bold plan to make the next 50 years even better. Part of that was refreshing our look and feel.
“We felt that we now offered far more than just sound and light, which seemed too restricting, and we wanted to get recognised for the full production and streaming we now offer. While we are proud of our heritage we have clear vision of the future.”

USA - Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC) made it easy for themselves, swapping out their decade-old ASP8024 console for a brand new ASP8024 Heritage Edition by Audient. For coordinator and professor of audio engineering, Dr. Ian Corbett, it was an easy decision. “Teaching signal flow on the ASP8024 has always been easy, so why change a good thing?
“We had used the classic for over 10 years and it survived hard student use and a building move so well. Less than one minor repair every five years - that’s a great track record compared to some other products we’ve had.”
Continued reliability and ease of installation were very important to them. “The wiring and infrastructure from the classic ASP8024 was of course already there for the new mixer, so installation could not have been easier. A bunch of students to lift the old board out, and the new one

Russia - On its inauguration in 2007, the Toratau Congress Hall became an instant architectural icon. Encompassing 14 multifunctional conference rooms, three VIP meeting rooms, a concert hall, a massive, 4000sq.m exhibition space, and three restaurants, each of the facilities matched the innovative design of the building itself. As time went by, Toratau Congress Hall attracted an increasingly international roster of events and artists, which in turn presented more demanding technical requirements. Venue management realised that the main auditorium would require a new high-end, multifunctional sound reinforcement system. A brief that was fulfilled by L-Acoustics K Series and X Series.
Situated in the city of Ufa, the capital and largest city of Russia's most populated Republic of Bashkortostan, Toratau Congress Hall was designed to cater for events ranging from regional civil
