France - With Paris Fashion week just ending, the historic Plaza Athénée Hotel in Paris debuted its new immersive speaker system install in their luxury Bar du Plaza Athénée featuring Amadeus loudspeakers.

The new speaker system is designed to create a fourth dimension in sound for its modern, comfortable and stylish surroundings. Designed by scenographer Etienne erard from Atelier A/V, the Amadeus system features 25 specially placed speakers including custom 'slim' versions of their ML 8 subwoofer under the bar's seating. The well-known French designer, Patrick Jouin, designed all the custom furniture for the bar. Some of the Paris Fashion Week festivities were held at the hotel, and the Bar du Plaza Athénée hosted celebrations for fashion luminaries and models with a sound quality to match the hotel's other gold-standard amenities.

UK - A.C. Special Projects (ACSP) has specified, supplied and installed cutting-edge performance lighting systems for two separate drama studios at Buckinghamshire New University's High Wycombe Campus.

Having previously supplied lighting systems for several other performance areas on the campus, the university approached ACSP to deliver solutions to meet their latest studio technical needs.

For the campus's main Drama Studio 1, which is utilised by a variety of performing arts courses, the brief was to enhance the existing conventional tungsten lighting system with a range of the very latest LED solutions, as well as upgrading the existing lighting console to cope with the new rig.

South Korea - Rental company Communicator Madang was appointed to manage audio requirements for a recent production staged at Yonsei University in South Korea, selecting its GLD mixing system at FOH.

Comprising a GLD-80 digital mixer, with an AR2412 and two AR0804 audio racks, the system was installed for a production of Broadway musical, Urinetown, performed by the college student musical team in the university's 100th anniversary concert hall.

UK - Technical production expert, Hawthorn's install team has completed the installation of a new house light system for the Hawth Theatre in Crawley.

The specialist permanent installation team was tasked to replace over 200 tungsten fittings with the latest ArcSystem fittings from GDS; a once in a lifetime opportunity to upgrade the quality of the house lights at Hawth Theatre and reduce the ongoing maintenance and lamp replacement costs.

Crucially, the new fittings also deliver a reduction in electrical running costs. A mixture of Arch System MR16, Pro-Fixture 1 cell and Pro Cell 4 were used along with the new 24v Arc Lamps. Kev Sanderson, team leader at Hawthorn, and his expert team had a tight 10 day window to complete the changeover, but completed the task ahead of schedule.

The dramatically beautiful setting of a stone quarry which has as its backdrop a 1,300ft high mountain was recently transformed into a 2,500 capacity open-air theatre hosting a wide variety of events by Istvàn Dévald, director of the Tokaj Amphitheatre.

To equip the venue, Dévald called in Budapest-based ZAJ Show Lighting, whose CEO and founder Tamas Fazekas designed audio and lighting set-ups worthy of the unique location.

Chile - Clay Paky Mythos fixtures illuminated the Costanera Tower in Santiago, the highest skyscraper in Latin America, with a light show to celebrate each match in the Copa América 2015 football tournament.

The award-winning Clay Paky fixtures were part of a lighting design by Toni Amoros, who also lit the tournament's opening ceremony. Each time a player scored Amoros employed the Mythos to wash the building with the team's colours and a variety of textures, surprising and delighting onlookers.

The fixtures also projected custom gobos such as the word 'GOOOL' (GOAAAL), supplied by Iluminación Profesional VALOOK, up the entire 300m length of the tower.

Ireland - The Gaiety Theatre on Dublin's South King Street is the city's longest established theatre in continuous operation. Since November 1871 and the opening night's double bill of She Stoops to Conquer and the burlesque tunes of La Belle Sauvage, the Gaiety has been entertaining Dublin audiences with a mix of musical shows, opera, ballet, dance and drama. Located within Singapore's Central Business District, the Cathedral was consecrated in 1862 and declared a national monument in 1973. As a major place of worship, St Andrew's Cathedral faces the challenge of hosting a number of different services, with a variety of musical requirements, and quick changeovers between events. The installation of 32in/24out Qu-32 digital mixers in the traditional worship hall at the Main Building and the contemporary worship space at the Extension building, has provided a solution.
