"Our new DX70 projector is perfectly suited to digital signage installations where a display may be required to run all day, such as reception areas and canteens in businesses, schools and hospitals, as well as shop windows and airport displays," said Paul Gardner, business development manager, 3M Visual Systems. "The product complements and strengthens our existing portfolio, at the same time widening our reach to capture those customers requiring DLP technology over LCD."
3M's DX70 utilises XGA DarkChip3 DLP technology from Texas Instruments. The DLP technology does not use polarisation and therefore generates a much 'whiter' image than previous LCD-based projectors when used with Vikuiti Rear Projection film, says the company. In addition, the absence of any filters means that operating costs and maintenance requirements are reduced.
