Also new from 4HM are two rack-mounted breakout boxes. The BOB/O-32 provides a means to break out two DB25 connectors to 16 AES/EBU pairs on 3 pin XLR connectors. The BOB/I-32 does the reverse and permits 16 AES/EBU pairs on 3 pin XLRs to be routed to two DB25 connectors.
MA64 is a compact and convenient 1U MADI converter designed specifically for broadcast and production applications. Accepting both optical and coaxial MADI, the MA64 simultaneously makes 32 pairs of balanced AES/EBU and unbalanced AES3-id available for interconnection to broadcast routers, audio consoles or any other AES equipped devices.
Comprehensive synchronisation options including wordclock, video, AES and MADI are provided to enable easy integration into any broadcast facility. Further broadcast features, including redundant power supplies, Dolby E and Dolby Digital compliance and a high build-quality ensure that the MA64 provides a space-efficient solution to MADI conversion in the broadcast environment.
The 1U BOB/O-32 breakout box is designed to compliment the MA64 or any third-party device that provides up to eight AES/EBU output pairs on a single DB-25 connector typical of the Tascam format. Each BOB/O-32 is fitted with a pair of DB25 input connectors and presents 16 pairs of AES/EBU outputs on XLR3M front panel connectors.
The 1U BOB/I-32 interface could perhaps more accurately be described as a 'Break-in box' rather than a 'Breakout box', says the company. It provides an interface between 16 pairs of AES/EBU inputs on XLR3F front panel mounted connectors and two DB25 rear panel connectors also conforming to the Tascam AES format. An appropriate unit for interfacing to any appropriate input device, the BOB/I-32 provides a sturdy and reliable interface solution as required in many broadcast situations.
