Sharing centre stage among the numerous new products on display were the four new amplifier series from Dynacord and Midas' first digital console, the XL8, which was making its world debut. The new flagship of the live console range, which had long been awaited with keen anticipation, caught the eye of all visitors and was the subject of a detailed presentation to representatives of the music trade.
Following the maxim "Never change a winning team", EVI Audio and the Musikmesse continued their joint presentation of the largest live venue at the fair: the Agora Stage, where systems such as the Electro-Voice Phoenix and Electro-Voice XLvc provided the sound, the Midas XL8 scintillated during its maiden voyage, and groups like 'The Real Groove Band' created a first-class festival atmosphere with their powerful blend of funk and soul, highlights this year being provided by special guests such as Jimi Hendrix clone Randy Hanson and vocalist Bonita Louw.
Once again, EVI Audio garnered a number of prestigious awards at this year's show, with the Midas Siena winning a MIPA award and the Dynacord CMS 1600, Dynacord PowerMate 1000, and Dynacord CMS 1600, picking up PPV awards.
Mathias von Heydekampf says: "The destination of the PPV Awards is determined by users, so our victories here demonstrate the extent to which our products tap the pulse of the users. There can be no higher praise." Turning to the MIPA Award from the world's MI magazines, he concluded: "Thanks to the quality of its products, Telex / EVI Audio is now indisputably a global player - a fact awards like these only serve to underline."
