The Pyles Club situated in the Latsia industrial area, packed in about 30 industry professionals from the country's PA companies, as well as freelance engineers and contractors for the first Adamson seminar held in Cyprus. The focus was on hands-on training using the latest gear and software, as well as learning about technologies from Adamson and Lab.gruppen.
The new system was used for the various training activities which included line source array principles and system design principles, computer aided system design (using Adamson Shooter software), rigging, amplification, processing (using Lake Controller software) and hands-on sessions featuring measuring and system tuning.
For the seminar, Adamson sent in David Dohrmann who travels extensively throughout Europe and the Middle East as an applications engineer, and whom also oversaw and fine-tuned the install at the Pylos Club.
The house FOH Engineer Jim Dimitri was initially surprised about the small footprint of the Adamson Metrix system. "I just can't believe that a box that size can deliver so much power and such clarity - it's impressive." The compact system consists of 10 Adamson 5 degree Metrix enclosures, two 15 degree Metrix W's, and four Metrix Subs. There are also Adamson M15 multi-purpose monitors being used as side-fills and wedges. Lab.gruppen 10000Q amplifiers power the system, a single Lab.gruppen Lake LM 26 processor is used for the mains, and an Adamson M Series Processor is used to control the monitor rig.
David Dohrmann reports, "After fine tuning the system in the afternoon I was eager to hear it with a live band in the evening. It was incredible to discover the amazing Pyles Club house band. For a long time I have not heard such a good live show. I have to add that FOH Engineer Jim Dimitri is an excellent engineer, and contributed to the experience which left me with a smile on my face. I know now that our PA is in good hands, and will cement our leadership in high-end live sound reproduction in Cyprus."
