Canada / Russia - Moscow-based ISPA recently took on Adamson distribution for Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. The company employs 200 people locally, and around 500 across Russia. The company was established 17 years ago and has grown to have four main offices, each of which has three subdivisions named Mediaworks, ISPA Sat, and ISPA Engineering. Together they handle multiple aspects of professional sound business, including sound reinforcement and installations, public address, recording, radio broadcast and musical instruments sales, just to mention a few areas. Other pro audio brands represented include T.C.Electronics and Sennheiser DBX.

Key personnel include Elena Porojnikova - head of the commercial department, Vadim Nerokhov - head of engineering and audio development for installations, and Yuri Cheshev - Adamson brand manager. Recently they hosted a three-day training seminar designed for sound engineers and freelancers from various sound companies around Russia, as well as the ISPA engineering team. Adamson Systems' Jesse Adamson and Adam MacGillivray flew over to teach the seminar.

The 3-day seminar took place at the oldest proscenium theatre in Moscow, the Operetta Theatre. Day one consisted of true line source array theory, Audiocore management, power and cabling configurations, and concluded with a rigging demonstration and flying of eight Y10 cabinets on each side of the theatre's proscenium.

Day two saw four SpekTrix ground stacked on two SpekTrix subs per side and a T-21 Sub presentation paired with the flown The Yaxis from the previous day. Extensive design theory and application configurations were also covered. Lab.gruppen's Claus Behren joined the Adamson Team in presenting gain structure, power compatibility and configurations in conjunction with the Adamson products.

Day three was reserved exclusively for the ISPA engineering team to train on Shooter Software. Adam MacGillivray later observed that "they were a very interested people, smart and dedicated, who asked just the right questions - it made for an easy exchange of information despite the language barrier."

ISPA says that Due to the logistics and huge import tariffs in Russia, bringing the product to the end customer can be challenging and more expensive than bringing it to most continental European countries. However, the company has already imported several Y-axis systems with its sub extension T21s to Russia, and a SpekTrix rig to a touring Circus Company in Kazakhstan. ISPA says its mission is not an easy one, but they are determined to make the Adamson name "the most revered sound reinforcement system in Russia".
