Located in 2,000 capacity tents, Sessions featured a lively line up of "ones to watch". Adlib designed and supplied two identical sound and lighting systems for the different venues. The rigs were designed to be fully flexible and as dynamic as possible to cater for a full range of bands and fast changeovers.
On the sound side, crew chiefs Steve Pattison (Chelmsford) and Hassane Es Siahi (Stafford) studied as many band specs as they could ahead of time and made sure they were appropriately equipped.
The FOH desks were Midas H3000s, supplied complete with a comprehensive set of effects including Lexicon PCM 70s, TC D2 delays and Yamaha SPX 2000s. Compressors were a mix of dbx and BSS and the gates were Drawmer. "Essentially it was one of our tried-and-tested festival rigs," explains Pattison, "With which we knew all the visiting engineers would be familiar and happy with."
The speakers were Nexo Alpha - 12 M3 high packs, 12 B1 bass units and eight S2 subs in total per site, driven by a mix of Camco Tecton (tops) and Crown VZ5000 amps taking care of the bass and subs. The monitor rigs consisted of a Midas XL3 console with full effects rack, 14 Adlib low profile MP3 wedges and Adlib drum fills per site. These were driven by a combination of Crown Pulse and 3600 amps.
Adlib Lighting supplied the lighting rigs for both sites, which were also mirror images, each featuring 36 PARs, four Martin Professional MAC 550 moving lights, eight ETC Source Four profiles and two bars of ACLs per stage. Control was Avolites ART2000 dimmers and the consoles were two new Avolites Pearl Experts.
