The shallow MDF enclosure design of only 18cm provides for flexible mounting in even the smallest spaces behind the screen. It can be stacked, wall-mounted, or even flown, with a weight of only 29.8kg.
Featuring a 4" pro-ribbon driver for HF, a Neodymium 6.5" vented mid-range driver and Neodymium 12" side-vented woofer, the system's frequency response is 45Hz - 20.000Hz (-3dB) with a dynamic range of up to 128dB.
Alcons' proprietary and multiple-patented RBN401 pro-ribbon driver offers non-compressed sound reproduction from 1.000Hz. to 20.000Hz; With a peak power handling of 800W, the RBN401 delivers crystal clear sound reproduction with digital-media dynamics.
The HF section is mounted on a swivel bracket for adjustable precise projection. The dimensions of the waveguide of the HF section have been kept minimal to combine projection control with a reduced effect of screen reflection (sound bouncing back from the screen into the waveguide).
The CR1 is completely passive-filtered with a system impedance of 4 ohms; This offers economic powering from only one channel of ALC2 amplified loudspeaker controller. The relatively low impedance is enabled by the ALC's Signal Integrity Sensing circuit, which actively compensates the impedance effects of long speaker cables, say Alcons.
