Hawthorn provided all the audio equipment for the event, selecting Allen & Heath mixers in all the arenas. A Xone:02 scratch mixer was installed on the main stage, running through a GL2200 live sound console at front-of-house. Two Xone:02 mixers were set up for battle mixing on the B-Boy arena, run through a GL2 console. There were also Xone:02 mixers in the Vans VIP tent, the Freestyle BMX/skater ramp and Sprite chill-out marquee. Finally, two 16-channel MixWizard desks were established for presentation purposes.
Hawthorn's technical project manager, Nick Key, commented: "This has been our fifth year as principal technical suppliers to the Urban Games and it has grown each year, with more competitions and musical acts placing increasing demands on the kit and crew. We opted to use our Allen & Heath mixing desks because we wanted to supply impressive sound quality coupled with reliable, user-friendly kit. The high number of outputs yet compact size of the GL series and MixWizards fulfilled all the requirements FOH, while the Xone:02 is a pure quality DJ scratch mixer."
