UK - Building on the success of the recently-launched iDR and PA product lines, Allen & Heath will be launching new products from both series at PLASA this September, as well as additional options to enhance the coveted Xone:V6 audiophile rotary club mixer. Allen & Heath will be introducing iDR-4 to the digital audio processing range for installed and live sound systems to complement the iDR family. Based on the same technology as the iDR-8, iDR-4 is a 4-input, 4-output digital processor with additional 2-input, 2-output dual-function monitor channels, ideal for smaller installations which makes full use of the iDR accessories for expansion.

There will also be three new products in the accompanying series of PL remote controller panels. PL-7 is a stand-alone or surface mounted LCD panel, which, using the PL-Anet interface on CAT-5 cable and connectors, enables remote display of status information and text messages which can be stored in the recallable memory settings. The PL-7 can be embedded with PL-3 or PL-4 wall plates, thus allowing programmable control from a single unit.

PL-8 is a 4-input, 4-output logic control panel mounted on a wall plate which can be connected to PL-Anet. It is designed to interface external systems such as alarm systems, juke boxes, screens and lights etc.

To provide even more flexibility for the remote control of iDRs using PL-Anet, a hub, PL-9, has been introduced. It is a 1U rack or desk mount unit which provides up to 7 individual connections to chains of PL devices, simplifying wiring, eliminating the need for complex daisy-chaining. This also provides the benefit of longer cable runs and allows easier 'plug and play' of devices such as the PL-6. Following the launch of the PA20 and PA28 live stereo consoles, Allen & Heath has extended the series to include the new PA12 mixer. Rack-mountable or stand-alone, the PA12 has 8 mono and 2 stereo channels and is suitable for the requirements of smaller bands and performers in the MI market as well as a host of other applications.

Allen & Heath recently launched a valve option card for the acclaimed Xone:V6 rotary mixer and now two additional modules have been developed, the EQ Isolator and V6 Crossfader unit. The EQ module is a dual, 3-band stereo isolator to provide variable attenuation of Low, Mid and High frequencies. The module, a 1U rack unit with six stereo inputs/outputs, connects to the Xone:V6 channel insert points and shares the V6 power supply. The unit has been designed to complement the high standards of sonic performance of the Xone:V6 mixer and allows any two channels to be assigned to the filters simultaneously. It can seamlessly blend two tracks, or create an 'audio montage', such as mixing the bass line of one track with the vocal of another. Crucially, with the isolator controls fully clockwise, filter stages are completely bypassed, resulting in a flat frequency response and minimal phase shift.

The Crossfader rack module adds crossfading capability to the Xone:V6, allowing the user to select any input to either side of the crossfader when required. Utilizing a Penny&Giles conductive plastic crossfader and high performance voltage controlled attenuators, the module interfaces with the Xone:V6 via channel insert points.

And to finish off the line-up for PLASA, the ML range of VCA live sound mixing desks is being further extended. Following on from the success of the stereo options for the ML5000, further stereo option models of the ML4000 and ML3000 have been introduced to provide an additional 4 or 8 stereo channels to handle multi-stereo source applications.

The company will be exhibiting on Stand K60 at this year's PLASA.
