For this project, Lighthouse installed 25 LED screens of differing shapes, pixel pitches and functions at the American Airlines Centre, covering an area of more than 8,700sq.ft. As one of the top NBA facilities, the American Airlines Centre is a combination of tradition and state-of-the-art technology. The newly installed Lighthouse screens have increased the video display capacity of the facility by 300 percent.
The contest involved simultaneous demonstrations in magazines and on websites, followed by three elimination rounds and an evaluation conducted by a panel of experts. The final results were revealed at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre on 7 July.
Guan Jizhen, contest judge and director-general of China Optics & Optoelectronics Manufactures Association LED Display Division, said, "The industry has witnessed Lighthouse's rapid growth in recent years, especially in the most demanding European and North American markets. By overcoming the installation difficulties in the huge American Airlines Centre project, Lighthouse once again proved its strength and capability. Its outstanding performance makes Lighthouse a role model for other LED display businesses to follow."
Peter Chan, general manager of Lighthouse, said, "Lighthouse's American Airlines Centre project is a pioneering installation for the sports market. We will continue to expand our client base in this area. It is a great honour for us to win this recognition from our peers."
