The two ranges of equipment are highly complementary, with Millbank’s Class D amplifiers and parallel banking solutions contrasting against Ampekko’s VxLAN control network and digitally controlled MAX series matrices. Ampekko’s Neil Voce commented: "There are so many strong Millbank products and some of them deserve to reach a wider audience - we are extremely keen to re-establish these products’ leading position and satisfy increased market demands."
Installations already employing either Ampekko or Millbank equipment include important sites such as Harrods department store in London, the UK Law Society London office and most major commercial high rise buildings throughout Canary Wharf in Docklands. "Combining the cutting edge technology of Ampekko’s current product line with Millbank’s global customer and distribution base positions us as the leading player in this market with the most comprehensive product range and a historical installation base that includes many of the world’s most important commercial structures," says Voce.
Since the tragic events of September 11, building systems managers have become aware of the need for fire and emergency notification systems to be able to provide specific voice instruction to personnel occupying commercial establishments so as to implement evacuation mass evacuation procedures as swiftly and safely as possible. Ampekko and Millbank systems provide building occupants with the most technically sophisticated voice evacuation systems available.
"The technology used by Ampekko voice evacuation products integrates well with the demanding requirements of Millbank’s customer base which spans over 20 countries around the world and provides us with tremendous potential," says Majid Siadat, managing director of Ampekko’s technical operations. With head office in Tolworth, Surrey, and sales and technical facilities in Newcastle, Ampekko will also retain Millbank’s existing facilities in Macclesfield, Cheshire to provide coverage across the United Kingdom.
Ampekko was advised on this transaction by Beaufort International LLC, a specialist advisory firm focussed on mergers and acquisitions in the fire and security industry.
