Anna Valley equips Prince’s Trust Awards
- Details
This year’s Prince’s Trust and TK Maxx & Homesense Awards were hosted by Phillip Schofield and Fearne Cotton and attended by HRH the Prince of Wales and celebrities including Brian May, Tinie Tempah, Luke Evans and Michael McIntyre.
Blueprint Partners have produced the national awards ceremony since 2015 and have relied on Anna Valley to help realise their creative vision for the event each year. The video element is critical to the award show’s success as the creative displays form an intrinsic part of the set design and staging, and video is used extensively.
“The Palladium stage is one of the largest in the West End and with a charity budget we have to ensure that every piece of set really delivers value. Working with Anna Valley to use LED and projection to populate the stage, gives us a great canvas to fill with video content tailored to each award category,” said Mark Anand, show director and managing director at Blueprint Partners. “Anna Valley have once again helped us deliver great impact on a sensible budget.”
For this year’s awards ceremony Anna Valley provided two PT-RZ21K, Panasonic 21k laser projectors to project video onto the 6mx3.5m main-stage screen which was hung from fly bars, allowing it to be flown in and out during the show. Thirteen columns of Roe hybrid 18mm LED, ranging from 2.4 to 4.2m in length, were also hung from fly bars on the main stage and the lighting designer, Mark Jones, used their DMX-controlled RGB blinders to create visual effects during the musical performances.
Four PT-RZ970 Panasonic 9k laser projectors were rigged in the top boxes to show IMAG, on screens in the boxes below. The combination of LED and laser projection provided a versatile and dynamic video solution that worked equally well for the award presentations and live acts.
“Working on this event with Blueprint Partners over the last five years has been an absolute pleasure,” said Anna Valley director, Nick Hart. “The Blueprint team have great technical knowledge and know how to get the best out of the equipment, and The Prince’s Trust is a fantastic charity that we’re proud to be associated with.”
