A star-studded, red-carpet event was held at London's Abbey Road Studios, where guests watched the premiere of Epic- a film featuring the pictorial music memoires of the 21 finalists - and saw Mark Ronson and the Business Intl. perform live.
Litestructures was commissioned to design, produce, install and implement a structure for the event that comprised a series of physical and digital components creating a large scale AV 'photo-wall'. The brief called for a visual/digital installation that would enable the guests to be photographed identifying their favourite live gig, and for these images to be displayed at the event in a creative/interactive way.
Litestructures' design emulated a large scale draped photo booth with an integrated goalpost structure. AstraLite truss supported a 104'' plasma TV to create the desired 'photo wall'. A standard Litestructures LiteConsole was used as a reception desk adjacent to the photo booth. This podium, typically used for live DJ performances, proved its versatility by serving as an eye-catching platform to welcome participants.
Litestructures turned to Millimetre to supply the digital and photographic elements required. They created a system that took individuals' photographs, displayed them full size, and then dropped them into a background matrix of people and their favourite gigs. Over 150 photographs were taken at the event and ultimately were transformed into the album cover design.
Prolyte Group account manager, Paul Hadfield, said of the project, "It was a real pleasure to work with the team at Millimetre again after our successful collaboration on the SpinVox Wishing Well project. When Momentum approached us I had no doubt that we could step up to the mark, and it was great to have the opportunity to deliver another unique installation. The guests who participated really enjoyed themselves and we had some really positive feedback."
