APG's managing director, Gregory Dapsanse comments, "The Uniline Solution is a comprehensive, multi-layered network that we have put in place to optimise the exploitation of Uniline in the marketplace."
At the first level, it comprises rental companies who already own a Unline system and who are APG-certified Uniline users. The second level is rental companies who don't own a system themselves, but are nevertheless certified Uniline users who can sub-hire a Uniline system whenever necessary. The third level concerns installers and systems contractors who also formally undertake to install Uniline according to APG's system guidelines. The final level refers to individuals such as freelance engineers, sound designers, consultants or project engineers who have also received Uniline training from APG specifically tailored to their requirements, and are therefore a valuable resource for other users to call upon if needed.
The aim is to provide a turnkey solution with full technical support to as wide an audience as possible for consistent, high level results. "We recognise that not everyone who might want to use Uniline is in a position to invest in a system," commented Dapsanse. "The Uniline Solution aims to ensure that everyone who wants to use a system has access to one, and with guaranteed results, because, as we all know, when it comes to using a line array, regardless of the intrinsic performance characteristics of the system, 50% of the sound quality depends on how it is set up in the first place. The Uniline Solution exists in order to guarantee our clients, and our clients' clients, optimal results every time."
For the moment, the concept has been rolled out across France and so far includes six rental companies who own Uniline systems, a further six certified rental company users, and six systems contractors who have already completed Uniline installations. The point of contact at APG is product manager Mathieu Delquignies.
Plans for the future are to further develop the concept in France with the aim of establishing at least 20 Uniline-equipped rental companies across the country and five more in Paris before rolling it out across Europe, starting in Germany and the UK. Regional workshops will be held across France from January 2011.
