This was the second year of a five year contract for which Arena Structures project manager Daniel Bluff and Arena Seating special structures commercial director Martin Clark worked alongside clients ATP, drawing on their experience from last year and expanding the events temporary overlay and hospitality offering.
The Group extended the facilities to include a Fan Zone which comprised of a 40m x 50m TFS structure housing two practice tennis courts and 400 tiered seats to expand the visitor experience and enhance the value of the sought after tickets. This led into the IMG and Tennis Family Area inside a 20m x 40m structure.
Arena Seating helped reduce the carbon footprint of the event by re-using their custom designed media boxes, created last year and designed specifically to fit into the O2 Arena, which were stored and kept in pristine condition. These incorporated broadcast studios for the BBC and Sky, communications pods and photographers' booths. Their modular nature means they can be reused (and reconfigured) for subsequent events.
Daniel Bluff commented, "One of the biggest challenges of working with the O2 is arranging build times around the series of other events taking place which requires a vast amount of forward planning. Our experience and knowledge of the venue means we are able to create facilities which meets the needs and high standards of an international sporting tournament of this level."
Three Arena Structures double decker structures created the distinguished Sponsor Village, providing exclusive views onto the practice court they surrounded on three sides for VIP and corporate guests. The Arena Group's sister company furniture hire specialists Spaceworks supplied a range of contemporary furniture for the organisers' and sponsors' areas.
