The venue consists of a large conference room with seating for 400, as well as several smaller rooms, each with seating for 130. The challenge was to install a high quality AV system, including sound reinforcement and multimedia capabilities for the whole facility.
A major objective was that he system was unobtrusive and would not affect the interior design. The Institution turned to the Engineer Bureau Droyers to provide the solution and selected Strobbe Sprl to install the system.
Strobbe, the Artcoustic dealer for Benelux, chose a solution based around Artcoustic loudspeakers. The surround system includes Diablo Monitors, DF75-55 monitors and DFD100-75 subwoofers throughout the facility, powered by QSC Digital Cinema Amplifiers (200W for surround, 425W for front speakers and 700W for subwoofers). A Lexicon MC-4 surround processor, an Ecler equalizer and a 10,000 Lumen Panasonic projector were also installed. A Cat 5 wiring system allows for the flexible routing of audio and other data across the site, as well as giving the client the option to easily expand the system.
The sound and AV system has been integrated with Crestron's Quickmedia Multimedia Presentation System, which controls everything from lighting, screen and access to audio and video transportation throughout all rooms.
"IHECS absolutely loves the system, the professors love the Artcoustic Loudspeaker system and feel the sound dispersion in the facility is excellent. The professors also love the fact that they can control all of the different equipment from a touchscreen themselves without any assistance", stated Rosseels Laurence of Strobbe Sprl.
