Managing director Wayne Howell comments: "Artistic Licence has always been strong in Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific. Setting up an office in Hong Kong is the next step and allows us to build market share by doing what we do best: supporting our customers and dealers.
The Hong Kong office will focus on dealer support and training plus project management. Large-scale project design, manufacture and installation is an increasingly important part of the Artistic Licence portfolio. The recent move to a new UK headquarters provides us with a significantly increased production capability, allowing us to take on larger projects."
Artistic Licence Hong Kong is headed by Simon Fraser, who began his career in 1984 as a lighting technician working for West End Theatres and on UK Tours. In 1987, Simon moved to Hong Kong to found Rule 1 Asia. Since then, he has amassed over 19 years of project and technical management experience in the arts, museums, architectural and leisure sectors. In this time, he has supervised the creation and implementation of a myriad number of high profile, awarding winning, and technically complex projects both in the UK and internationally.
In 2003, Simon created Ptarmigan Consulting Ltd and has designed and implemented technical systems for a range of projects that have included the Galaxy Park in Tianjin China, award winning A Symphony of Lights in Hong Kong, and most recently Louis Vuitton's new Landmark Store in Hong Kong.
