Making its debut at PLASA Focus: Leeds is versaSplit mini, a multi-functional modular DMX distribution system
UK - Artistic Licence, the experts in lighting control, invite visitors to stand N-B23 at this year's PLASA Focus Leeds. Making its debut is versaSplit mini, a multi-functional modular DMX distribution system that promises to be the lighting control industry's equivalent of a Swiss Army knife.

versaSplit mini is housed in a compact metal case, suitable for desktop or truss mounting via an adapter. It comes with an inter-changeable input module, allowing the user to select between DMX/RDM, Ethernet (Art-Net, sACN & KiNET) or CRMX wireless DMX input.

The product features six splitter outputs, fitted with 5-pin XLR connectors. Moreover, all the input modules allow the user to switch to a 'fix mode' if any flickering is encountered.

The beauty of the product is that all the input modules (of which there are six types) can be purchased separately, making versaSplit mini an extremely versatile and future-proof investment. Indeed, versaSplit mini's big brother, launched recently in rack-mount format, has already received rave reviews (see the Technology Focus section of L&Si April 2015 edition).

In other news, Artistic Licence will be previewing its new Matisse range of panel controllers. Combining elegance and sophisticated functionality, the range offers an affordable, high-quality solution for users wanting to achieve LED effects via a simple wall-mount interface.

The Matisse range comprises two series - mini and moody. mini takes the form of a seven-fader panel, with options that emphasise control over different aspects of lighting. For example, mini Level provides multi-channel intensity control, mini Colour is designed for cove lighting and mini Hue enables colour control over multiple zones.

moody offers a rotary control panel, with a range of options: moody Level controls DMX output intensity, while moody Colour provides sophisticated control over a single zone.

Artistic Licence has a very broad established product range, and many of the most popular lines will also be on display. Artistic Licence CEO and technical guru, Wayne Howell, will be available throughout the show to answer technical questions and advise on the most appropriate solutions.
