Artistic Licence managing director Simon Hobday reports, "It was our first time at PLASA Focus and I was very impressed with the organisation, venue staff and general atmosphere of the show. We met a lot of new customers and discovered the potential for many more. We also gained very valuable feedback, not only about our products but what is missing in the industry.
"The new DALI products, Rail-DALI-DMX and Rail-DMX-DALI, generated a good deal of interest. The received customer feedback has already given rise to another new product which we will release within the next six months."
Artistic Licence also showed products across the Art-Net and DMX Distribution range. This gave the customers north of the traditional tradeshow catchment areas a chance to really familiarise themselves with these systems and put questions directly to the Artistic Licence staff.
However, by far the most popular product proved to be the Flexi-Strip LED lighting system released at the show.
"The response to Flexi-Strip even surprised us," says Hobday. "People were impressed with not only its colour definition and intensity, but also the control options that are available. We have discovered exciting possibilities in areas we had never considered before.
"Our experience at PLASA Focus has confirmed our decision to look seriously at the smaller trade shows. They give us time to talk to people without the pressure of a big stand. We uncovered potential in very different market areas from the standard ones in which we often find ourselves as an industry. I can see that we will be exhibiting next year."
