Germany - Global medical technology company Olympus moved into its new Hamburg headquarters for the EMEA region and for Olympus Deutschland last summer. The sustainably constructed new building focuses on interaction as well as new ways of working and offers space for more than 1,200 employees on 11 floors and an area of 35,000sq.m. To promote flexible and hybrid collaboration, Olympus relies on efficient media technology and activity-based working in the new office building. Whether areas for collaborative working or variable conference areas - by means of innovative AV media technology, a future-oriented environment was created that fully supports the collaborative working approach at Olympus.
In the new building in Hamburg-Hammerbrook, Amptown System Company GmbH (ASC) equipped more than 400 rooms with media systems.
Crestron as the central media control system networks the devices in the rooms into a single system and handles the transmission of audio and video signals via the Crestron Digital Media System and its components. In order to allow free movement in the room and simultaneous control of the media systems without restrictions, this customer request was also implemented using the Mobile Control App.
Another key feature of the media technology implementation is the equipping of various work areas with the latest generation of Microsoft Surface Hubs 2S and the integration of these into the AV media system. The Olympus Campus project is considered one of the largest Surface Hub roll-outs in Europe last year. In addition to the 50", the latest 85" versions were also used.
In the Olympus Medical Training Centre, employees and customers can experience medical technology in theory and practice. These training areas were also equipped with innovative media technology by ASC's professionals. Other special rooms such as the central exchange areas, showrooms, the auditorium and a workshop area also received media technology and custom-fit solutions.
The central element in the auditorium, which is designed for approx. 140 people, is the video wall consisting of 3x3, 55" frameless Barco displays of the UniSee series. For the additional transmission of image content, two additional 85" Samsung displays are used, which were integrated into the rear side walls of the auditorium. Ceiling-mounted PZT cameras and ceiling microphones provide the necessary video and audio signals for video conferences.
In the Medical Showroom for OR integration solutions, additional large-format displays and an innovative presentation system are used.
