Asking Alexandria tours with Bandit Lites

Following the band’s European tour, lighting designer Corbin Alvae sought to utilise fixtures that would offer a host of functions to supply the band big, stadium style lighting that would translate to clubs and theatres.
“The band has such a groovy and heavy rock ‘n roll style that I needed to provide a design that really highlighted that and bring those moments to life on the stage even more,” explained Alvae.
“When Corbin reached out to me about his design for Asking Alexandria, I was beyond excited to work with him on this one,” said Bandit Lites client representative Mark Scherer. “His fixture choices and implementation of them was all thought out and perfectly executed. His design packs a huge punch with bold looks in a compact club form.”
Bandit Lites supplied the tour with Chauvet COLORado Solo Batten IP 65, Elation ACL 360i, Elation Proton Eclypse Strobe IP 65 and ROBE MegaPointes.
The Elation 360i ACL’s motility capabilities offered a wide range of creative shapes and movement. Coupled with Robe MegaPointes ability to go from a beam to a spot (not to mention its punchy prism and gobo wheel), Alvae delivered the arena lighting looks in spades. The Elation Eclypses rounded out the strobe/blinder selection as it both provided pixel mapping looks while also packing a punch.
“For songs like Never Gonna Learn and Let Go, I give a classic rock ‘n roll feel with big looks, movements and gobo/prism shapes. For songs like Dark Void and To The Stage, I go straight in and hit the crowd hard with a lot of movements, but with a lot of heavy and tasteful strobe and pixel moments.”
Bandit Lites provided a rolling Tyler Truss which ensured the lighting would both store well during changeovers as well as get on and off the stage quickly during the band’s festival performances.
“Working with Bandit has been such a treat,” said Alvae. “Everyone that I have come in contact with and worked with on these tours have been nothing but welcoming and extremely helpful.”
