The latest release in Avolites' innovative ART 2000 digital series, the ART 2000i is aimed at theatrical, architectural, leisure and retail applications. The ART 2000i Installation dimmer is available in modules of 24 x 16 Amp units, 12 x 32 Amp, or a combination of these two modules. Main features include: quick and simple installation, proven design reliability, operation in all environments or climates, Hot Patch option, 100% duty cycle on all channels simultaneously, virtually silent operation, 240 mS Chokes, noise suppression to TV studio specifications, thermostatically-controlled fan in ducted force-cooling chamber, dual isolated DMX inputs with Merge and Full Soft Patch, flexible dimming, mains distribution or contactor modules, ultra quiet intelligent cooling system, smooth dimming of low voltage, low wattage or inductive loads, RCD protection as standard and selection of dimming curves.
Also launching at PLASA 2002 is the Avolites Pearl 2004, an updated and streamlined version of the Pearl 2000, which uses new technology and offers improvements including end cheeks in a stylish metal impregnated material, and Cue Roller in silver. On the output panel, 2,048 DMX channels are provided on four separate DMX connectors, and the internal software OS has been upgraded to the 2004 version with many enhancements including the Colour, Gobo and Beam Tables.
All Pearl 2004 consoles are supplied with a free suite of PC software, also launched at PLASA 2002. The Pearl Simulator, a useful, timesaving free software download provides a virtual interface for Avolites' popular Pearl 2000 console. This photo-realistic software enables LDs, programmers and operators to begin programming a Pearl without a physical console, or to edit existing shows, saving data to a Pearl-compatible floppy. Pearl Simulator is designed to work with the Avolites Visualiser emulation system - uniting both the console and lighting rig in a virtual environment. This is invaluable for situations where programming and set-up time is at a premium. These two applications may be used in a number of ways, from editing and updating shows, to learning how to program, or to just using the pre-programmed ‘show’ file to fill the console with a variety of effects.
Finally, the Avolites Cache Builder is another free download, letting you load the consoles just with the fixtures being used, rather than being offered the full personality database of over 500 fixtures.
