Avolites' Steve Warren and Koy Neminathan organised the event with Jagmag's Atul Sonpal. It was attended by over fifty enthusiastic and interested individuals including LDs, programmers, operators, rental companies and show producers - representing a broad range of market sectors.
Avolites left Mumbai with 16 confirmed orders for the new desk. "I was honestly overwhelmed by the response" says Steve Warren. "The original Pearl has been a huge success for us in India generally, but reaction to the Expert has been stunning, and took us all by surprise."
Atul Sonpal comments, "This console has come to our market at exactly the right time - it deserves this very positive reaction and will prove a popular choice in our country." Sonpal, a high profile LD in his own right, is intending to use a Pearl Expert at first opportunity on one of his own shows.
Warren and Neminathan also squeezed in a hectic schedule of attending various live events including a concert and a fashion show - all using Avolites control - in the short time they had available either side of the Open Day. Warren comments, "The two days we wasted wrestling with red-tape to get the demo Pearl Expert console through Indian customs would have been better spent catching up with all our friends we didn't have time to personally visit. However, we do look forward to catching up with everyone again soon."
