UK - The Marquee Club is back up and running this autumn in a new venue, with Aztec, Audient's flagship live desk forming part of the new PA system, hand-picked and installed by Terminal Studios. Back again in its spiritual home in Soho, the Marquee Club is only a short walk from its famous Wardour Street location. With a capacity of 1000, the new venue at Number 1 Leicester Square needed professional help with the sound system.

Terminal Studios were chosen due to their wide experience of installing PA systems. Terminal's managing director Charlie Barrett says: "We knew that the sound system would be crucial to the success of the club. We wanted tried and tested equipment that engineers and bands would be familiar with. Turbosound Floodlight was the obvious choice of speaker as Terminal already had large stocks available. The Audient Aztec, however, was not originally on the shopping list."

Barrett continues: "We wanted a 'top end' console with plenty of sends. The usual suspects were in the price stratosphere and there simply were no consoles between these and the more budget ones except for the Audient! Being new on the market, we wanted to give it a thorough testing, so we borrowed one and put it through its paces in our rehearsal studios."We were absolutely blown away by it! It did everything we wanted it to do with some really well thought out, useful routing features. It is beautifully made with high quality faders and switches and best of all it sounds fantastic, super quiet with powerful EQ that does all the right sorts of things! It represents incredible value . . . The 48 channel desk was tested 12 hours a day for six weeks by a number of engineers and bands, including The Black Eyed Peas, Placebo & The New York Dolls. It performed flawlessly, which was more than could be said of some of the other users," says Barrett.

Audient's UK sales manager Nick Pemberton is pleased that Aztec now resides at the Marquee Club. "With a long-standing history for staging some of the greatest artists in the world, I am proud that Audient is now a part of the continuation of its already incredible history," he says. "Terminal Studios have specified a great rig and it's great to see an Audient at its centre. With Audient's ever-increasing reputation for designing and manufacturing high-end, professional audio equipment, this will allow engineers and bands alike to access Aztec."
