All Bandit Lites offices' computer equipment and components are recycled though Scotts Recycling in Knoxville, TN. They accept complete and partial computers, phone systems, TV's, household electronics, cables, UPS Systems, printers, cameras, VCRs & copy machines. They also accept a wide range of metals, utility equipment, subassemblies, scrap wire and system components. Parts that can be re-used are sold and everything else is separated and recycled.
Office printers and copiers have been replaced to allow for energy efficient units and toner savings. Duplex printing, toner saver modes, and standby modes have been adjusted to allow for the efficient use of supplies and power when not in use. All office computer monitors have been set to turn off when idle after a period of time and whenever possible Western Digital Caviar Green Hard drives are used, which yield an average power saving of 40% compared to standard desktop hard drives.
Distribution of paper financial & production information, reports and documents have been reduced through IT infrastructure projects using tools like Sharepoint, SQL reporting services, adobe acrobat and our centralised data centre. Whenever possible, invoices are emailed and reports will be saved on a web-based portal for easy access by all offices and employees instead of printing.
Bandit Lites has been using VMware to build a consolidated and green datacenter over the past 2 years. Bandit has been able to virtualize 60% of their physical servers with a goal of having 90% of their company servers virtualized by 2011.
Bandit continues to shift all fixtures in all facilities to LED and other eco friendly types as the products are available and operations permit.
Bandit's entire inventory of GRNLite products is 100% booked and working on the road.
