Martin was in charge of the sound operation for BBC Sport, which produced all the domestic (BBC1 and BBC2) programme outputs. As for the RM1D, he was first exposed to this at last year’s IBC Show, and then acquired a six-channel version from HHB. "We liked the fact that the RM1D has a clear ergonomic work surface with broadcast PPMs (as an option) coupled with the fact that it can handle a wide variety of analogue and digital sources. Having separate record, transmission and clean feed outputs and a built in pre-hear and talkback speaker makes it a good choice for live broadcasting environments."
The new RM1D will duly replace the 328XDs, and take up its position in Studio 5 at BBC Television Centre in Wood Lane.
