USA - Bolstering their managerial leadership and manufacturing ingenuity, Biamp Systems today announced that they have appointed Jim Nelson to the position of outsourcing and OEM manager. Effective immediately, Nelson will report to Bob Yeager, manufacturing and facilities manager, and will be responsible for overseeing contracted manufacturers as well as many of Biamp's subcomponents manufactured by OEMs.

"This is an important new position for Biamp and we felt that Jim's technical expertise made him the perfect candidate," said Yeager. "While we have a great deal of confidence in Jim's managerial skills, what impressed us was his technical and manufacturing background that we feel can be applied to our other manufacturing initiatives. Jim's dedication to his profession and thorough understanding of the industry will help us provide our customers and contract manufacturers with the best products and services available."

Nelson brings a thorough understanding of manufacturing and business operations to Biamp. Previously Nelson was employed with Cascade Microtech Incorporated as a contracted manufacturing engineer to support the company's transition to Demand Flow Technology while improving profitability by optimizing process and design procedures. Prior to his position with Cascade Microtech Inc, Nelson was a project manager with the Corbond Corporation. Here he oversaw the successful design and construction of a polyurethane manufacturing facility. Nelson has also held positions with Asahi Glass Pacific Rundum, Ash Grove Cement Company and Oremet.

In addition to his professional experience, Nelson also holds a BSc in chemical engineering from Oregon State University and an MBA with an emphasis on operations management from Portland State University. "I am excited about the opportunity to take on such a dynamic role with a company like Biamp Systems," said Nelson. "Biamp is a company that takes great pride in the manufacturing and engineering of its products and I look forward to working with this group of people who share a drive to consistently produce the highest quality products available."
